If you feel like your life literally revolves around your love of food, then you are just like me! I started this blog becuase I think about food, and everything related to food, all day, everyday. I just love food! I have no sort of training in cooking, unless you count reading cookbooks for fun and watching endless hours of the Food Network. Oh yeah, and once I took a Chinese cooking class. I just want to talk about the food I cook, the restuarants where I eat, recipes I like, cool utensils I use for cooking and anything else that comes to mind related to food.
Food simply makes me happy. I am always thinking about my next meal…what will I cook or which restaurant will we go to. I love learning and experiencing food from different cultures and countries around the world. Food has this amazing power to bring people together.
So, now that you understand my obsession, here is a little about me. My name is Megan and I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I live with my awesome husband, Joe, and our adorable kitty, Kayla. I own a company called Right Click Marketing & Management, which offers web marketing and project management services. When I am not working or thinking about food, you can find me working on one of our many home remodeling projects. Or, maybe just outside enjoying the sunshine:-)
Thanks for checking out my blog. Let me know what you think or just drop me a line to say “hi”.
I love food, too! I have 2 blogs- a recipe related one called http://rootieskitchen.wordpress.com and another one that’s just personal stuff but food enters in frequently called http://becauseitreallyispersonal.wordpress.com
Feel free to visit!
Hi!
I just stumbled across your blog, have enjoyed reading your posts. I live in Finland but will be visiting family in Cleveland soon. I too am a foodie, and appreciate your reviews. I’ve got a couple of places to add to my list now! 🙂
One question, if I may: do you have any opinions about where to find good Neapolitan-style pizza in Cleveland?
All the best for your eating and blogging!
Hi Grant!
Thanks for your interest in my blog. Happy to help provide some good eats while you are visiting Cleveland:-)
I am a thick crust pizza lover myself, but I have heard good things about the Neopolitan-style pizza at Lolita’s (http://www.lolabistro.com/) and Marotta’s (http://www.marottas.com/). I have had dinner at Lolita’s and it is fantastic! It is owned by Michael Symon, the winner of Food Network’s Next Iron Chef.
Enjoy your visit to Cleveland!
Hi, Megan!
Tracy sent me the link to your website which I had fun exploring today…good job! You’ve inspired me to try the Empress again–haven’t been there for years! Will also try your beef stroganoff recipe–I usually make mine on the stovetop, but love the slow cooker option. Keep up the good work!
Megan,
Thanks for the link. Good luck with the site.
Mark
I think it’s probably tough to find good Neopolitan-style pizza outside of Naples. 🙂
A wood-fired or coal-fired oven is a must, and they cook in a minute to a minute and a half.
The crust is thin and bubbly, but it’s chewy and not like a cracker.
Toppings are usually fresh, unprocessed, and simple.
The Margherita is a good example. It has slices of fresh Roma tomatoes, whole leaves of fresh basil, and slices of fresh mozarella.
Lolita’s might be a good bet since they do other things so well.
I had a very good Neopolitan Margherita pizza in Chicago, but that’s kind of a long drive. 🙂
I’ve been told that New York is the place to go in the US for real Neopolitan pizza. I haven’t been to NYC in 25 years, so I can’t make any recommendations.
The Wolfgang Puck restaurants supposedly make very good pizza, and it’s kind of Neopolitan with non-traditional toppings.
Then there’s Emerils. I’d try the pizza there, although it would have to be on the second or third visit because there are other things I’d like to try first.
Las Vegas might be a good place for Neopolitan-style pizza. There’s a wide variety of restaurants there, and some are very authentic.
Just the MGM Grand has at least 3 places I’d check for pizza.
Venice and Bellagio should have some good Italian food too.
Winn is way over-the-top, and I could well imagine them dissasembling a pizza shop in italy and putting it back together inside the hotel. Pizza shop? Hell, it might be an entire Italian town. 🙂
This place has a location in LV and it sounds pretty good.

Getting back to Ohio, M Bistro in Westlake had good pizza that was similar to Neopolitan pizza. I don’t think they’re open anymore though. 🙂
Have a nice day !
I am sorry to post this here, but I couldn’t find an email on your site. I write feeding maybelle (http://feedingmaybelle.blogspot.com), and you might not have read or even heard of my blog. But, I want tell you about a contest/round-up that I just started–vote for your favorite cupcake in Cleveland. I realize the free-magazines do this, but this is your chance to showcase the bakeries that they always miss and to showcase your blog. I will be posting a round-up with links to alll participating blogs. And, it is great reason to spend the next six weeks stuffing your face with cupcakes. For the full listing, rules and procedures go to http://feedingmaybelle.blogspot.com/2008/04/first-annual-cleveland-cupcake-project.html
